YEREVAN METEOR OBSERVATION STATION

  STATION INFORMATION

When you want to conduct a radio observations of meteorites,  you will encounter some natural phenomena:  sparodic E, mesospheric winds,

Doppler effect of airplane and other types of propogation. You can learn how it looks and it is accompanied. First, you need to find

a radio signal from  television channels in theVHF-L band 50-100MHz. These sources are more powerful than 1KW and more,

which gives us a chance to observe these phenomena and  do it very accurately. The second step is setting up an observatory, an antenna, a receiver

and a PC for signal analysis and measurement. For this purpose I used all  available programs  producing final  results.

You can use other radios without  software, radio scanner e.t.c. I used SDR technology RTL-SDR R820T DVB-T USB DONGLE

that I find  convenient for this work. HROFFT analyzes and records all events. COLORGRAMME reads and analyzes all  events shown in the chart.

All observations are made during one year, indifferent seasons and conditions. Aquariids was observed in May, sparodic-E and  Perseids - in

summer,  and Quadrantids - in winter.

This is an introduction to my study. When I have enough time I like to make such researches, since I find it very interesting and informative.

The following images contains all events I was able to observe.
